The 8 Mile Tetrick Holiday Run & Picnic 12/28/08

__________________________________
Tertrick Trail

Course History: In the 80s and early 90s, Tetrick Trail was an underground, cult favorite race at Griffith Park. The Tetrick Trail is a tough 8-mile loop with quick up and down rolling hills. Taking up parts of an old fire road, it is spotted with shade from trees towering over the course. Part of theTrail is called Los Columpios, it is the most physically difficult section of the entire trail as youre heading up very concentrated steep and quick hills. The course was made popular by the G-pack running club who for many years sponsored the Tetrick Run. Runners enjoyed the bohemian theme which the run was known for. The race was started not by a gun but by a bow and arrow. By mile one male runners could feast their eyes on a totally nude female. A couple of miles later the ladies were treated as well to a nude male. Unfortunately, the park rangers got wind of what was going on and banned the event.

City of Angels Half Marathon 12/07/2008

Once again Roberto Kadafi Perez proved himself to be one of the top runners at the park with yet another excellent, excellent performance in the City of Angels Half Marathon. Rumor has it Kadafi has been training in at a secret area all these months and then unexpectedly sign up in advance to show his intention to dominate in his age division. So the big question STILL stands: Will he break the 3 hour Marathon in 2009 as he did 20 years ago???

Athens Marathon Nov. 09, 2008

Julio (JJ) travel to run marathons around the world! He is in a quest to look for the best marathons each year. This year was Athens Greece.

According to legend, the Athens Marathon covers the same ground that the Athenian messenger Phiedippides ran when he brought news of victory from the battlefield of Marathon almost 2,500 years ago. The finish line is in Athens' magnificent Olympic Stadium, the birthplace of the modern Olympic Games. It is recognized as the original marathon course and it was the same course used in the 2004 Olympics held in Athens
